Getting cheaper gas with the star card
« on: November 25, 2008, 03:31:53 AM »
Well it has started over here in Germany with customers pay a couple cents less a gallon (not liter) if they use the military star card.

Another way for AAFES to save money and encourage people to use their in house credit.  Pretty soon there could be lines for STAR card users and lines for everyone else.

They do something like that on Okinawa too.  They are implementing the star card for for cheaper gas but they also have a services club card that gets you cheaper food.  Aside from the fact that we are all in the same service I find it disheartening to learn that i need to apply for yet another credit card in order to enjoy something at a cheaper price.  How many credit cards do I need to enjoy benefits for something I am a part of?  I serve my country but unless I have some sort of credit card I can not get a benefit.  Hmm I may be mistaken but they run a credit check and so many of those a year is going to put me in a bad bracket for credit.  Not to mention having a bunch of cards I will never use except to get discounts.  As a member of the United States military why am I not included if I do not have a credit card?

All exchange locations are doing that 3ยข off. Unfortunately, they forgot to remind everyone about the 9.9% interest you will pay on that "discounted" gas.
