I drove up to KMCC on Jan 22 or 23. (aside: are all German roads so horrible? Or do I just need to get the most upgraded shocks and absorbers?) POSITIVES: I liked the fact that it was a much bigger store. Coming from Stuttgart/Patch, the KMCC is huge. So, they had more available - an actual Bookmark, not just a couple aisles of books in the BX, a food court with a wider variety available, a couple of souvenir stores, and a movie theater all there. NEGATIVES: Who designed the place? Really? A Class VI in a mall? Where kids and teenagers and such hang out at? In the middle of the the Mall? Granted a shoppette isn't a bad idea, but you are competing with your own food court then. The design of the BX layout. Okay. It is not a good idea to walk all the way past 2 acres of clothing to get to the toys section. A toy section, ideally, should be in the vicinity of the PowerZone or maybe near the kids' clothing section, not next to the maternity section. Also, why have a furniture section halfway into your Powerzone/electronics area? So people can rest, or so they don't have to walk all the way to your separate furniture store located just outside the door of the BX, inside the KMCC? OVERALL: It's good if I absolutely need something that my smaller BX/PX doesn't have or doesn't carry (and I can't wait to order it). But ultimately, the only thing it offered was more - more of the same stuff. It's saving grace was the food court and Macaroni Grill. So, from my perspective, a 2 hour drive up there is only worth going maybe about 3 times a year, everything else my BX or online has.
