But if an employee is SMART, they plan their leave well in advance like I do. I always plan it a year in advance this way I don't loose any. Employees that wait till the last minute are not very smart. I have never lost a single hours of leave. PLAN IT SMARTLY

You must not work in a place where management cancels that already-approved leave, using the excuse of "operational need" (which is absolute BS, by they way) or calls you back because someone else quit or whatever.

We had a manager do her level best to try to cancel the leaves of people who had put in six months early, had it approved and so bought plane tickets and everything. It took formal grievances to make the manager stop canceling already approved time off.

As a stupervisor for AAFES, i was told i could not give anyone a day off between November 12th and the new year. God forbid my employees get to spend the holidays with their family!
