Standards without Rights
« on: June 01, 2010, 02:59:34 AM »
???  I thought things dis gushed with an HR Rep. were supposed to be confidential.  Apparently not the case at Fairchild.  Isn't  there some kind of a protection act involved, has anyone else herd anything like this

it's been a very long time since I have trusted my HR personnel ..  When I 1st hired on, HR went over the orientation classes IN PERSON instead of popping in a video .. they informed you of your rights and regulations of AAFES  if  you had problems w/management or supervisors they helped you through it ...
In the last 7 yrs and a large turnover rate .. I have yet to see any HR help very many store asst's issues concerning management or supervisors.
Depending on the size of store and HR location      ...   anything going on could be heard through thin walls ..

What about full time slots dedicated to friends and family, is this part of EEOT or advancement from within

To answer your question with a question: have you looked at the GAB lately? Two and three generations at least...

This is AAFES. Promote their "Friends" into non existant jobs. Post those jobs for an hour or 2. Cancel Posting and any applications. Approve "Friends" for Manager Training classes.

I have dropped from RFT to RPT on my own accord. Now I am here only 2 days a week. That is getting to be too much. Sticking me at Central Checkout on the last 4 or 5 Fridays due to Cashiers constantly calling out.

Then there is the Managers. One who was busted down due to an alcohol problem. Now sits at the Recepionist desk. Continues to purchase 4-5 bottles of Vodka per week. Heard stories from coworkers about this person coming in drunk. They dont do anything. Had it been a regula Associate, Can you say "Termination"

So! our we to continue bitching to each other!!!  Or does anyone out there know the process of how to get something done?  Names and numbers would be nice.  I most definitely would like to see a cure or at least a start to a cure that accomplishes more than just a promise wouldn't you! My ears and eyes are open.

So do you think HQ monitors this site

HQ monitors this site, Billy. But not for the reasons you think... Just because you are paranoid doesn't mean they aren't out to get you. :)
Most times your only outlet will be the IG- but I wouldn't know how those results usually turn out. Maybe another employee knows... The other grumblings I have heard around here have been the union.
You could take the righteous route- start making ALOT of noise going up th chain, one a-hole at a time- but odds are, you first call will be the one that gets you canned. DON'T mention any personal info on this site- but if you wanna PM me with some vague details, I can see what I can find out for you.
HQ hates getting letters from me- but I have never intervened on the part of an employee before.

Fairchild is so bad about keeping anything confidential. If anybody that works in the back office hears you talking to the HR they can't keep their mouths shut either.

Look at the message board in or around the break room. There should be contact info for a local union. Give them a call and talk with them. Or you could try the EEO, phone number for that is also on the board. If you can't find that info, let me know and I'll dig around and try to help you the best I can.
